History

In the fall of 2006, a small group of committed parents, educators, and community leaders formed an exploratory committee to officially start an education foundation for the Loomis basin area.  After months of work, the Loomis Basin Education Foundation was officially incorporated on December 21, 2006.

The Loomis Basin Education Foundation, (L.B.E.F.) exists to improve the overall educational experience of students in the Loomis Union School District, (LUSD) by supplementing academic and enrichment programs while supporting the district’s strategic plan.  We are able to extend grants to the LUSD by hosting community events and receiving donations from LUSD families and community businesses.

The first MandaRUN was held in October of 2007. It brought the community together with a 10K, 5K and fun run in downtown Loomis and raised over $17,000.  Since then fundraising efforts have expanded. There is an annual MandaRUN which includes a beautiful half-marathon course from Auburn to Loomis and a 5K run, an annual not-to-be-missed Loomis Basin Holiday Home Tour in December of each year.

The Holiday Home Tour showcases beautifully decorated homes to view, a holiday boutique to browse, lunch to enjoy, and entertainment provided by our choir and band students. Students can also display their artwork in the boutiques.

Taste of a Small Town is a local food and vendor experience showcasing local wineries, vendors, breweries, artisans, and eateries.

LBEF Golf Tournament is our 4th event of the school year and brings together many parents and friends of LBEF to enjoy a day outside with friendly competition with local foods and beverages.

LBEF is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Tax ID# 26- 0218866
